![]() ![]() Breakfast was also one of the poorest offerings that we have experienced and definitely not worth the money. We booked a premium room as it seemed slightly bigger than the standard rooms and had a nice brick wall and nice bed on photos. We felt the hotel could of been great but just fell short leaving you a little disappointed as its not a budget hotel. Cold buffet style breakfast £10 a head or £20 a head for additional hot breakfast which you have to order. Breakfast was OK, you have to book a time in when you check in. Felt like I was being played a mug I requested we be moved and stated the facts, the manager told me they were fully booked. I know for a fact I spoke with the receptionist at that hotel on booking!. I spoke with the receptionist who said they had nothing on there system requesting a king premium with both bath and shower. So I looked around on the justpark app and booked a parking space on a private carpark on St Denys Road for £33 for 2 days. Parking is on a 1st come basis for £14 a night with limited spaces and no disabled bays. Spoke to a lady on reception about the above and she recommended a king-size premium room with a bath and a shower as there would be more space for use of the wheelchair. We reported it to the receptionist in the morning and then went out to see York after 5 + hours we returned and the shower hadn’t been fixed as the receptionist had not noted the room number so we then had to wait for someone to come and fix it, they sent a cleaner with a plunger and he took a while to rectify the situation also they hadn’t cleaned or changed the bed covers and towels as we used them all to mop up the overflow the previous night, this was not acceptable and won’t be going back to this hotel in York again. This hotel when view gives you the impression it’s by the water but in fact it’s in the centre of York, it’s also says you have private parking but that’s only if your there early as it’s limited spaces, we arrived at 7.30pm and had to drop the cases to our room and then drive around to find parking which took about 1 hour so was very tied at this point so just wanted to eat and relax but when we got back to the hotel it was to be told they only do pizza to say we where disappointed was mild as not everyone like pizza, we then had to go and find somewhere to eat and at this point it was 9pm. We did notice that both rooms had interconnecting doors which we are not a fan of and don't know if this is to every room in hotel?. The room was spacious, nice, clean and quiet. He offered a disabled room on the second floor 233 i think which we felt we had no option but to accept or it would of been a trip back home. But told me to hold on a minute why he looked at another suitable room. ![]() The manager told me that I had booked through the chain office and not directly through the hotel and they don't know the layout of the rooms and in fact no rooms have a bath and a shower, it's one or the other. On arrival we checked went to room to find it was a standard king with one walk in shower with limited space. ![]() Spoke to a lady on reception about the above and she recommended a king-size premium room with a bath and a shower as there would be more space for use of the wheelchair. We contacted the hotel directly 4 weeks prior to staying. My wife has mobility issues and is a wheelchair user but we wanted a room with a bath in the bathroom opting away from a disabled room as we have had so many bad experiences in the past at other hotels.
